Smartphone-Based Vital Signs Detection Platform
Built a clinical-grade computer vision pipeline that runs on the patient’s phone, measuring vitals from optical signals and feeding them into the care workflow.

Traditional vital sign monitoring requires dedicated equipment, limiting accessibility for remote care and telehealth workflows. In this engagement, we engineered a transdermal optical imaging system that captures health metrics through a short facial scan, reducing hardware barriers while preserving clinical utility.
The experience was designed to be fast and consumer-friendly while generating medically meaningful measurements suitable for remote patient workflows.
The decision
The decision was to design vital-sign capture around the device patients already had. A short facial scan would reduce dependence on dedicated hardware, with optical signal processing, capture-quality controls, and health metric output built into a consumer-friendly mobile experience for remote care.
Core capabilities
- 30-second scan workflow optimized for mobile usability and repeatable measurement capture.
- Optical imaging pipeline for extracting physiological signals from facial video.
- Health metric output including heart rate, blood pressure, stress indicators, and BMI.
- Telehealth-friendly architecture to support remote workflows and scalable deployment.
- Quality controls to reduce noise, improve consistency, and validate capture conditions.
Insights Earned Across Industries
Every industry has its own language. But many of the hardest software problems repeat: messy workflows, disconnected systems, complex permissions, reporting gaps, and users who need better tools to do their jobs. Stratos works across healthcare, financial services, benefits, logistics, real estate, education, music technology, and other operationally complex sectors. That breadth gives us more than category familiarity. It gives us a working library of proven patterns. Clients benefit not only from what we understand about their industry, but from what we have already solved in others.
Reusable lessons. Faster decisions. Stronger software.
